The One
Devotional
As humans, we all long for the world to be a “better” place. However, in our efforts to make the world better, we end up adding more chaos in the process. In this lesson, we learn to look to and prioritize “The One” who can actually change us and the world around us.
1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant....”

Practice The Way of Jesus:
In Philippians 2:1-11, the apostle Paul encourages believers to be like-minded, have the same love, and be united in spirit. He emphasizes the importance of humility and points to the ultimate example of humility in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus, though being God, humbled himself, taking on the form of a servant, and became obedient to the point of death on a cross. Because of His humility, God exalted Him and gave Him a name above all names, and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
This week and every week, follow the example of Jesus by embracing humility in your daily life. Be intentional about putting the needs and interests of others ahead of your own. Actively seek opportunities to serve and help those around you. Whether through acts of kindness, volunteering, or supporting others in times of need, demonstrate selflessness in your actions.
